Cyborgs HATE Colds!

I came up with this a couple of weeks back - you know, when everyone was sneezing and snuffling with back to school viruses and just wishing that your nose could be turned off like the faucet it was thinking it was. ... I don't think cyborgs stay sick very long.

Last saturday I got to go painting with some good friends.  The key, I learned, is to go painting with people who are better at you, that way you can glean as much wisdom as you can.

Mark the Second

A memory sketch done during Institute of a cool guy i saw in SLC. The coolest thing about this guy is actually his flaming red hair and green backpack, which means there is probably another version coming soon.

Plein Air Aero Plane

...on plain paper too.  For a Friend.
okay, another version, but this one NOT on plain paper.  Just had to try it out.  white paper looks funny on my blog's black background.

Bison - not Buffalo

Last weekend I visited Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.  The island is home to over 500 free ranging bison. I've had bison on the mind ever since.

Mural in Nazareth, Israel

This August I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Israel painting a mural in a Children's Hospital in the city of Nazareth.  The mural can be found at the St. Vincent de Paul French Hospital in Nazareth in the Children's Therapy wing.  It covers a 3 walled stairwell and a lower lobby.  For full details, articles and more images showing the progression of the painting visit the ForPeace site at http://forpeace.us/.
The mural is painted in acrylics and oils and took 2 months of planning prior to arriving in Israel.  All paint and materials were donated by the artists.  Simini Blocker is an extremely talented professional illustrator and did the beautiful faces of the children (see more mural photos and her art at http://siminib.blogspot.com/.)  Jake Wyatt contributed enormously in the planning stages and is responsible for the initial composition and design of the mural.
Here is a link to a video on youtube.

Thankyou to all who participated, to Margaret, Bethanne, Chase, Simini, Adam and Jake and to all others who helped make this happen.  A special Thankyou to Dr. Salim and the hospital staff.
